SketchUp gives you the tools to crte all kinds of 3D s and designs, from woodworking blueprints to urban planning designs. With multiple template options and an intuitive interface, this program lets you direct all of your energy into crting and not into fumbling through complied menu options.

Google SketchUp is a free, sy-to-lrn 3D-modeling program with a few simple tools to let you crte 3D models of houses, sheds, decks, home additions, woodworking projects, and even space ships. You can add details, textures, and glass to your models, and design with dimensional accuracy. You can place your finished models in Google rth, share them with others by posting them to the 3D Warehouse, or print hard copies. Google SketchUp is a grt way to discover if 3D modeling is right for you.

Pros
Template variety: No matter what kind of design you're looking to crte, you'll likely find just the right template in this program. There are options for Construction Documentation, Landscape Architecture, Interior and Production Design, 3D Printing, and more. Additionally, ch type of template lets you choose the system of msurement you'd like to use and on what scale.

Help options: This program can do a lot, and there are a lot of different resources in place to help you access all of its ftures. Depending on your experience level and the way you like to lrn, you can make use of Tutorials, Self-paced Tutorials, a Getting Started Guide, Quick Reference Cards, or other Help options.

Cons
Time to lrn: Because there is so much to lrn, though, it can take some time to get the hang of using this program effectively. Beginners to design programs will likely take longer than users who alrdy have some experience working with similar software; but few people will be able to jump right in and get results immediately.

Bottom Line
SketchUp is a smooth and efficient free program that provides a lot of functionality to facilitate all kinds of designing. Its plentiful Help resources make it accessible to even the most inexperienced users, but it does take some time to get the hang of all of the ftures the program provides.

What's new in this version ;

Improved the Polygon tool to allow the crtion of both circumscribed and inscribed polygons via a modifier (Ctrl on , Option on Mac OS X).
Added the ability to delete all in model materials.
We renamed the Plugins menu to Extensions to be more inline with our current naming conventions. This should not brk existing plugins. Adding a menu item to the Plugins menu will still work, but that menu item will be added to the Extensions menu instd.
Fixed an issue where DWG/DXF files imported into other appliions were scaled incorrectly if SketchUp and the other appliion were not using inches.
Fixed an issue where Intersect with Selection would fail when it should have worked.
Fixed an issue that could cause glued components to move when moving other model geometry.
Fixed an issue where Guide lines could fail to display or could display incorrectly in some models.
Fixed an issue where the Axes tool could fail to display in some scenes.
Improved the error message you see when a component crted in a newer version of SketchUp is imported into an older version of SketchUp.
Fixed an issue where Entity Info could display incorrect information when components and groups are selected.
Fixed an issue that caused ground shadows for profile edges to sometimes draw incorrectly.
Fixed the Msurements toolbar to no longer cut off labels.
Changed Entity Info to report the correct value for a polygon perimeter.
: Added the ability to export TIFF and PNG s with a transparent background.
: Fixed an issue that caused the error message “Invalid length entered” when trying to change the point size of text after changing Unit precision.
